November 2nd, 2010 one comments Blog Storytelling YouTube, YouTube DetailsStorytelling for your Children I’m a professional storyteller and as such I cannot underline enough the benefits of storytelling. At the very least it is quality time spent with your child, at the best it will give your children memories of you that will stay with them forever. Reading books to children is a fantastic start, but I challenge you to put the book down! Take a story you know, a fairy tale, a legend or a book that you’ve read to your children so many times you’re sick of the sight of it and then tell it from memory. If you get lost… make it up! I guarantee your children will love it, why? Because your full focus is suddenly on them. When we tell stories we are tapping into our creative juices and this is fun, it’s invigorating and it’s a wonderfully positive way to connect with your child. So next time you’re wondering what to do with your child to keep them entertained, turn yourself into a storyteller and the time will fly by.
